When a man is called “Mr Sleeves Up”, you can tell he has a reputation for hardwork. Passionate Social Change Advocate, Youth Enabler, Public Speaker, Shepherd of Men, Life Coach and Celebrated Entrepreneur, Kola Oyeneyin has acquired the social capital necessary for bringing his vision of positive change in Nigeria to fruition.
A computer-science graduate from the University of Nottingham, Kola was a senior business analyst at Hewlett Packard, before leaving to run one of Nigeria’s most prestigious schools – Lekki British School, as a Business Manager.
Kola drives the creation of Business Hubs, Launch Pads, and Virtual Office Spaces for Entrepreneurs, SMEs and Multinationals through Venia Business Group, a company that has seen steady brand growth in Technology, Energy, Investments, Healthcare, Entertainment and Infrastructure, and sprouted Venia Consulting, a Business Start-Up and Strategy Consulting company providing access to Finance, Business Support and Advisory Services. Featured by BBC’s ‘Hubs In Africa; showcasing innovation and creativity”, the sheer value and innovation he brings to the country has caught the attention of a host of media outfits and stakeholders that include BusinessDay, YNaija, TechCabal, ChannelsTV, amongst others.
Priding himself on the provision of disruptive innovative solutions comes with a lot of expectations and this Kola has continued to meet. He recently launched Nigeria’s first online insurance platform, MyAutoGenius, considered a revolution in Nigeria’s insurance space for its commitment to redefining the industry through the injection of innovation that ensures convenience, trust, transparency, access and value.
Away from corporate and business affairs, Kola is the Convener of Generational Voices, a multi-party platform for young Nigerians interested in political engagement. He is also the Founder/Convener of Sleeves Up Youth Foundation, a youth advocacy platform for proactive action on Good Governance, Advocacy, Education, Healthcare and Job/Wealth Creation in Nigeria.
A member of the British Computer Society and an Associate of the Nigeria Leadership Initiative (NLI), he was nominated in 2012 for The Future Awards’ Entrepreneur of the Year award, and is a speaker and trainer on several platforms and on multiple topics that include Entrepreneurship, Business Start-Up, Career, Technology/Social Media, Social and Economic Issues, Church and Nation, Youth Empowerment and Politics, and has a large followership on social media regularly engaged through his twitter page. His 2014 Channels TV interview sheds a lot of light on his mission and motivations.
Kola recently took time off to get married to the love of his life, Eyitope, a union which without doubt holds the promise of even greater exploits.
